Colts Battle Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action

Hello, fussball fans. How are you? Everything good I hope on this excellent early start to the tenth week coming straight outta Deutschland. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be precise where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the mighty Colts (seven wins and two losses) take on the Falcons (3-5). The fifth game played on soil in Germany and the first in the nation’s capital.

As sparkly jackets go that is an real standout from Katarina Witt on the coin toss. A minor slip from Sky Sports there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the presenter with an unfortunately hot mic.

Here we go! And we have an exciting start after the Colts running back receives a short throw, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right then loses the ball … only for his offensive lineman to save his bacon with the ball retrieval. Colts are in Falcons territory already.

And the excitement continues as the Colts go for it on 4th down. The risk doesn't work out as Josh Downs fails to catch a fastball from Jones. Prior to the failed attempt the Falcons defender put a huge hit on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they attempt to end their string of three losses. Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was wide open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That play rather sums up the first round pick’s career to date.

A disappointing start but it only gets worse for the Falcons as they turn over possession to the Indianapolis on the 23-yard mark. Michael Penix Jr is sacked and can’t keep hold of the ball.

A nifty 22-yard run from Ashton Dulin sets the running back up to roll in for the score on the next snap. Kicker Michael Badgley skews the extra point wide. Oops.

The quarterback recovers from the turnover by leading Atlanta on a long drive for a score of their own. The wide receiver makes some chunky receptions to put them in the scoring area then the seas part for Tyler Allgeier to saunter on to the goal line through the middle of the defense for a 13-yard gain. He completes the drive for a one-yard touchdown of his own. The Falcons take the lead.
