Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes come after periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with assaults already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
